9 Ways to Highlight Your Assets (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)

Highlighting your assets is the secret to being a super hot crossdresser or transgender woman. It’s impossible for people to notice your “flaws” if they’re too busy looking at something else – like your sexy legs, breasts, or behind. But it’s NOT about wearing the tightest, shortest thing you can find. It’s about attracting attention in a classy and tasteful way. Here are 9 ways to highlight your assets:
If your LEGS are your best asset …

Choose your best skirt length

legs-skirt
The most elegant and flattering skirt length is generally 1-2 inches above or below the knee. (Notice I did NOT say crotch length!) Here’s a simple test for finding the best skirt length for your body:
  • Stand in front of a mirror wearing the shoes you normally wear with skirts or dresses.
  • Hold up a piece of fabric and raise and lower the hemline of the fabric in front of your legs.
  • Notice which length make your legs look best.

Wear pantyhose

Although pantyhose isn’t as popular as it used to be, hosiery adds polish and definition to the legs. It’s also a great way to cover up imperfections.
The secret is to wear the sheerest pantyhose you can find for a sexy, modern look.

Try D’orsay pumps

The D’Orsay is a shoe style where the sides are cut away to reveal the arch of the foot. This is an elegant shoe style that’s perfect for showing off beautiful legs.
While high heels give your legs maximum definition, the D’Orsay is also flattering in flats and low pumps.
If your BREASTS are your best asset …

Go for deep “v” necklines

The easiest way to show off beautiful breasts is to wear a low cut top – and v-necks are especially flattering.
But how low is too low? A good rule of thumb is to show off 20%-40% of your bust. This gives you sex appeal, while keeping it classy.

Look for tops that frame your breasts

Another flattering option is to wear tops that frame your breasts. Think halter tops or tops that have shirring or trimming at the bustline.
The more defined the bust area, the more “the girls” will stand out.

Apply a bit of shimmer powder

A final way to make your bust pop is to apply a bit of shimmer powder to the visible part of the breasts. This highlights the breasts, similar to the way eyeshadow highlights the eyes.
Just be sure you aren’t using anything too glittery or shiny. A shimmer powder like Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Luminizer or Stila All Over Shimmer Duo will give you a subtle glow – not make you look like a disco ball.
If your BUTT is your best asset …

Wear skirts or dresses with ruching in the back

Ruching (i.e. gathering along the seam line) adds volume to your curves and highlights your assets. It’s one of the easiest ways to make a great butt look even better.

Look for bottoms with a sweet heart or “v” shaped back yoke

A yoke is a piece of fabric located below the waistband of a skirt or pants. The shape of the yoke has a major effect on the appearance of your butt.
Sweet heart and “v” shaped yokes are most flattering. Stay away from straight yokes (they make your waist look larger) and wide yokes (they make it look like your pants are falling down).

Try butt-enhancing shapewear

There are tons of butt-enhancing undergarments on the market now – ranging from butt-lifting shapewear to heavy-duty padded panties.
Here are 3 top-reviewed booty enhancers:
  • Foxy Fanny Silicone Padded Brief
  • Caboost! Padded Panties
  • The Tush Cush
Even if you are already blessed with a beautiful behind, the right shapewear can give you added oomph under your clothes. Think of it like a push-up bra for your behind.
So girlfriend, which body part if YOUR best asset? Your legs, breasts, butt … or maybe something else?

Top 6 Makeup Tips for Crossdressers and Transgender Women

Is makeup a mystery to you? Do you feel like you have two left hands when it comes to applying makeup? Does your makeup make you look more like a drag queen than a beauty queen? If the answer is yes, my latest blog post is for you! The good news is that ANYBODY can master the art of beautiful makeup. You just need the right strategies.

To get you started, here are my top 6 makeup tips for crossdressers and transgender women:
1. Invest in good makeup brushes

Quite simply, it’s impossible to apply masterful makeup without the right tools. Forget about the tiny, cheap applicators that come packaged with eyeshadow, blush, powder, etc. Upgrading to high quality brushes will immediately upgrade the look of your makeup.
Here are the basic brushes you should own:
  1. Foundation brush
  2. Concealer brush
  3. Powder brush
  4. Blush brush
  5. Flat eyeshadow brush
  6. Eyeshadow blending brush
  7. Lip brush
2. Use color correctors

If you have skin issues like a beard shadow, blemishes, or dark circles under your eyes, the solution is NOT to bury them under thick concealer. Your makeup will look much more natural if you start with a color corrector. The idea behind color correctors is to use a complimentary tone to neutralize imperfections. This allows you to achieve beautiful skin with less makeup. For example, you should use a pink or red corrector to neutralize a dark beard shadow – or a green corrector to neutralize redness.
3. Don’t ignore your eyebrows

A mistake I see many crossdressers and transgender women make is leaving the house with ungroomed eyebrows. Since eyebrows create the frame for your face, they are literally one of the first things people notice about you. Why allow misshaped brows ruin an otherwise good makeup look? If you can, get your eyebrows professionally shaped. A good esthetician can groom your eyebrows so they look good in both girl and guy mode (if need be).
4. Practice, practice, practice

Makeup is like any other skill – the more you practice, the better you get. And the better you get at doing your makeup, the prettier and more convincing you will look as a woman.
5. Book a lesson with a professional makeup artist

If you struggle with your makeup skills, one of the best investments you can make is a lesson with a professional makeup artist. A good makeup artist will teach you proper makeup application techniques, help you find your best colors, and ensure that you are applying your makeup correctly. This is important because all the practice in the world won’t help if you are only reinforcing bad technique.
6. Take good care of your skin

Your skin is literally the canvas for your makeup. Proper skin care can go a long way towards improving your skin’s texture and appearance. Not only will this make you look better, it’ll help your makeup go on smoother and last longer.
Here are 3 simple skin care tips to keep in mind:
  • Avoid using harsh soaps on your face. Use gentle facial cleansers only.
  • Apply facial moisturizer daily.
  • Use a face mask at least every other week. (This is a great ritual for pampering your inner woman!)

3 Rules for Dressing Sexy at Any Age (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)

One of the biggest mistakes many crossdressers and transgender women make is dressing too sexy. This often looks ridiculous – ESPECIALLY as you get older.Does that mean you need to turn down your sex appeal after a certain age? Absolutely not, girlfriend! All you need to do is follow these 3 simple rules for dressing sexy at any age:

Rule #1: Show some skin (just not too much )

Short skirts and low cut tops are undeniably sexy, but you shouldn’t go too far with this. Here are a couple guidelines to keep in mind:
  • Your skirt should be no shorter than fingertip length when you stand with your arms to your sides.
  • Your top should show no more than 40% of your bust.
At the same time, you shouldn’t be TOO covered up since that just screams “old lady”. Show off your feminine assets, but do so in a tasteful and classy way.

Rule #2: Find the right proportions

Proportion refers to the way your clothes work together in length, width, size and volume. For example:
  • A short skirt paired with a short top looks slutty.
  • A long skirt paired with a long top looks dowdy.
  • A full skirt paired with a full top makes you look heavy.
  • A tight skirt paired with a tight top makes you look like a sausage (unless you have a body like Giselle Bundchen!).

You should never go too far in any one direction. That means if you wear something tight or skimpy, you should balance things out with the rest of your outfit. For example:
  • A short skirt should be paired with a more covered top.
  • A skimpy top should be paired with a more covered bottom.
  • A tight skirt should be paired with a fuller top.
  • A tight top should be paired with a fuller skirt.

Rule #3: Wear luxurious fabrics

The final piece of the sexy puzzle is the fabrics you wear. Think slutty and what comes to mind? A spandex skirt, barely there glittery top, and patent leather stripper boots, right? Sexy, on the other hand, is associated with luxurious fabrics like silk, velvet, lace, and cashmere. When shopping for clothes, look for fabrics that are rich and sensuous – rather than cheap and tacky.

Final thoughts …

The bottom line is that you are NEVER too old to be your sexy femme self. Just be sure to keep it classy. As always, I’ve love to hear your thoughts on this topic.
